This collection contains reports on medical missions conducted by the Unitarian Service Committee. The purpose of these medical missions was to bring information from the United States to other countries concerning recent medical advances in various fields, and to receive similar information from the medical scientists in these countries. The reports are on medical missions in Austria, Colombia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Iran, Israel, Japan, the Philippines, and Turkey.

The Unitarian Service Committee (USC) was formed as a standing committee of the American Unitarian Association in May 1940. Its purpose was to investigate opportunities in America and abroad for humanitarian service.
